Penny has been excellent with basic commands, house training, and crate training. I don't believe that Penny needs to be in a crate when unsupervised but I have been doing it because of my dogs. Penny (reluctantly) goes into a crate but sometimes a treat is needed. Penny quietly sleeps through the night in a crate. Penny is very very food motivated and loves attention
Penny is very overweight and it affects her mobility issues. She runs (slowly) and she struggles to climb a lot of stairs or jump high. A proper diet and exercise would help her a great deal. With this in mind—Penny isn't the kind of dog that is going to run through the house or jump on people. She would really do well in any kind of home that is dog-friendly. Despite her age (birthday is ~ October 2016) Penny still very much acts like a young dog in spirit and attitude.
