Join us for our summertime Doggy Book Club during the months of June and July!

The Doggy Book Club events are ideal for kids ages 7-11 but don’t worry – we don’t ID! Any child or teen is welcome to participate.

From 10 AM – 12noon every Thursday in June and July, kids can come to the LIFE House For Animals shelter with an adult to read to our dogs (or cats). Kids can bring whatever book they want and can work with our Doggy Book Club volunteer to find the perfect dog (or cat) who will listen attentively to them read out loud. Kids can read for however long they’d like during the 2 hour timeframe of the event.

No RSVP is required and the event is free.

What better way to start off your weekend than getting some lovin’ from our cats and dogs? On the 2nd Saturday of each month, make plans to visit the LIFE House For Animals anytime between 10 AM – 11 AM to enjoy “Coffee With Cats & Donuts With Dogs.”

You can…

Relax in our lobby and meet adoptable cats. Each room will be let out to play for 10-15 minutes so you can meet all of the cats available for adoption.

Or…

Come down to the play yard where we’ll have tables and chairs set up on the concrete areas. We’ll let out different dogs to meet, greet, and play with everyone.

No registration required – walk-ins are welcome! This event is kid-friendly and family-friendly.

New Volunteer Orientation for LIFE House For Animals volunteers will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 2 PM – 3:30 PM in the Community Room at our shelter.
